Authors’ Pages
The point of these authors’ pages is help authors gain exposure for their name and their work. These days writers need all the help they can get to get their name, their brand and their books out there, because there are so many people doing it.
Nowadays, plucking up the courage to start writing a novel or even finishing the thing is only a small part of the job of an author. Anybody thinking of writing a few books should take this to heart: once you have written the first one, you will be spending most of your free time promoting it, you will have precious little time left for a second or a third, unless you link them into a trilogy.
Here at Megan Publishing, we try to help authors get some time back, by lightening the load of publishing and initial publicity. However, no author can expect to escape the necessity to help publicise his or her own work all together.
Even authors published by rational publishing houses are called upon to meet their fans, sign books and give public readings.
These authors’ pages are one of the means of helping authors gain exposure, but there is also much more that can and must be done. Authors’ pages must be SEO’d correctly and so must the blog or web site itself where they appear.
Social media and joint ventures are also a very important part of promoting any web site or blog, but so is writing articles and submitting press releases and before all that happens, every author or even every series of books should have an individual web site.
This is a phenomenal amount of extra work for the person who was just thinking about writing a book or two in his or her spare time for the fun of it. The work of that kind of writer will only be read by family and friends.
I do not want to give you the wrong impression about the writers featured on the authors’ pages here. Most of them have done all their own writing, publishing and publicity, I have only participated in a joint venture with them by putting up this blog and creating their authors’ pages with material supplied by them.
Authors’ Pages
However, these author’s’ pages are great examples of what can be done, so if you would like to be featured here of if you would like us to help you with your advertising, please drop us a line using one of the many comment boxes on the pages of this blog. I monitor all comments, so yours will not be missed.
If you think that we can help you claw some time back by creating one of these authors’ pages and or by helping you publish your work for you, just get in touch and we can discuss your requirements.
Whether it be proof reading, formatting for publishing, creating cover art or getting you a private ISBN in order to distinguish your book from the crowd, let Megan Publishing take some of the strain with your next book.
