What I have been up to in October
Welcome to this October publication report on my writing life!
In October, I published 33 e-books, which is more than the average of about 25. They were in Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.
Four of most difficult languages to get translators and narrators for are represented here, namely Arabic, Chinese, Japanese and Russian. That is quite amazing 🙂
I used to publish a paperback at the same time as the ebook, but my publisher, the Italian Tektime (a.k.a. Tradulibro) has stopped me doing that, because Amazon and IngramSparks, two massive print book creators, have been objecting to my books. They won’t say what the problems are. I don’t know, and nor does Tektime. It is a mystery, but Tektime, being a small firm, cannot spend any more time on the matter. They are also concerned that they might be victimised for defending them. And I agree, that their position is too risky.
As a test, I have been publishing some rejected paperbacks on Barnes & Noble. I have about ten on there, and no complaints whatsoever! It makes me wonder why Amazon and IngramSparks are behaving as the are, and why they are in cahoots.
October Publication Report
My favourite publication in October is ‘A Night in Annwn’, a narration in Russian. It is also harder to get a narrator than a translator, so a double whammy. Not only that though, this is a novel, not a manual, and is in one of my favourite series.
I had five narrations. Two stand-outs are ‘Tiger Lily of Bangkok’, narrated by Roberto in Italian, and ‘The Dream’ (Behind The Smile volume seven in English) by Chris.
Less than two months ago, I published a book called, ‘ How to Boost Your Book Sales EXPONENTIALLY!’ It is now being translated into 10 languages, and narrated in three. I spent a lot of time researching methods of book promotion for this manual, and I am also putting my findings into practice.
Initial results have been more than enough to make me continue. If you want to try its suggestions for free, I am serialising it on LinkedIn.
In conjunction with the book’s recommendations, I have restarted my MailChimp newsletter, and my SubStack podcast, both of which are delivering encouraging statistics.
My sales are up
The Future
What does the future hold?
I have added suggested schedules for sellers of books to that manual – a daily, weekly and monthly suggestion.
Well, once I have established the above schedules into my work-routine, I will reread the book-sales manual to find another strategy to add to my stable. I would like to try a blog tour.
Good luck,
Owen
